The Canadian team thing is part the underdog thing and part nationalism. There just aren't that many Canadian teams and only a small amount seem to make the playoffs in a given year. Canadian teams are the underdog as evidenced by the last time one has won the cup. Then just toss in nationalism. Of course people are going to give some nod to teams from their own country if they don't have a team in the playoffs.

As to the Jays, well it'd be nice if things went well for them this year. After last season I'm on the fence about how they are going to turn out.

FYI Tatar is 24. Also he is not underrated. He was the 2013 AHL playoff mvp and he has his own language.

This makes no sense, grammatically or otherwise. As an attempted burn, it is pathetic. Next.

He's underrated in that no one really talks about him and that he does a lot with somewhat limited minutes. If you only talked to people who actually know the NHL, then no, he's probably not underrated.

I think honestly it's just a media thing. Hey 5 Canadian teams - easy story. I don't think real people are quite so simple.

He also won the TSN goal of the year last year so he's not exactly an unknown. Also why would I talk to people that don't follow the NHL?
